Our key areas of management and mitigation focus on premises energy and water efficiency, material usage, efficient transport and supply chain engagement. Specifically, we:
- Monitor & manage our utilities, specifying energy & water efficient fixtures, fittings and equipment, and setting appropriate reduction targets
- Look for opportunities to reduce our energy use and associated carbon emissions, through utilising renewable energy tariffs
- Implement the waste hierarchy in all we do, segregating waste streams for recycling, and minimising waste to landfill through careful design, purchasing and work methods
- Governed by the sustainability hierarchy of reuse, repurpose, recycle, recover & replace
- Utilise a life cycle assessment approach when specifying materials and building services
- Reduce business travel impacts through the use of digital communication technologies
- Seek to support clients in delivering sustainable solutions and develop a network of suppliers and associates who share our commitment and ethos
- Operate in line with all relevant legislation, including the Environmental Protection Act and other legislation relating to emissions to air, water and ground
- Ensure all staff benefit from the appropriate training and necessary resources for the effective functioning of this policy
- Employ locally and invest in our workforce
We will regularly review our progress and take remedial action in the event of us falling short of our aims & objectives.
